HillsScape Founder and CEO Stephen Hills served as President and General Manager of The Washington Post for thirteen years, during which time The Post was deemed “The Most Innovative Media Company in the World” by Fast Company. Steve’s experience in leading innovation also includes serving as a Director of Sonatype, a fast-growing open source software company and as a Director of Classified Ventures, the creator of cars.com and apartments.com. Steve is currently on the Board of Directors of Avalon Bay Communities. Steve’s consulting engagements include companies in the media, technology and real industry sectors.
Steve earned a BA in Philosophy from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard University. He is a Founding Director of The Business Law Scholars Program at Georgetown University Law Center, where he also leads an executive program in Mindful Leadership.
Steve serves as Chairman of the Maryland/DC Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, and is incoming Chairman of YPO Gold, US Capital Chapter.
